E-learning standards

E-learning standards refer to a system of common rules for content, authoring software and Learning Management Systems (LMSs) - rules that specify how courses can be created and delivered over multiple platforms so that they all operate seamlessly together. Accredited standards ensure that the investment in time and intellectual capital could move from one system to the next. Currently, e-learning standards are being developed by four main organizations: AICC, IEEE, IMS, and ADL. The article presents some aspects of these standards.E-learning, standards.

Methodological approaches based on business rules

Business rules and business processes are essential artifacts in defining the requirements of a software system. Business processes capture business behavior, while rules connect processes and thus control processes and business behavior. Traditionally, rules are scattered inside application code. This approach makes it very difficult to change rules and shorten the life cycle of the software system. Because rules change more quickly than the application itself, it is desirable to externalize the rules and move them outside the application. This paper analyzes and evaluates three well-known business rules approaches. It also outlines some critical factors that have to be taken into account in the decision to introduce business rules facilities in a software system. Based on the concept of explicit manipulation of business rules in a software system, the need for a general approach based on business rules is discussed.methodology, business rules.

Object Oriented Approach for developing of a Tutorial System Work Security and Health in SMEs

This paper presents the authors' research for developing a tutorial system which enables the delivery of proper training to specialized personnel in Small and Middle Enterprises (SMEs), in order to eliminate or reduce the health and safety risks of these enterprises to an acceptable level, according to the European Union directives. Object Oriented Modeling of a Tutorial System for Major Risks Management – Requirements Analysis

The issues concerning major risks management are very important at European level and they have been described in two EU directives, Seveso I and Seveso II. Romanian Integration in EU is conditioned by the implementation of these directives, especially Seveso II, in Romanian economy. The directives are very complex, their management and implementation requiring qualified staff. The training of the employees requires adequate training systems, including computer aided training systems.
